| DENTAL CARE |
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface. We use sealants to help create a tooth surface more resistant to tartar buildup.
We examine your pets teeth with their annual exam and will recommend cleaning when needed.
Horses should get annual dental examination. We are equipped to examine your horses teeth and “float “ the sharp points off with hand and PowerFloat® equipment. |

| PAIN MANAGEMENT |
| Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. We highly recommend pain medication for all surgical procedures. Medication is also available for chronic pain, such as arthritis. The doctor will make recommendations for blood screening for your pet if these medications are indicated. |
| |
| DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING |
Radiology uses X-rays to help our doctors evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary tract issues.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to help our doctors see more detail of the internal organs. The doctor will recommend this very useful imaging modality for gastrointestinal problems, to check for spread of cancer, and to evaluate the heart when needed, among many other things. Ultrasound procedures may be performed in the clinic or at a nearby imaging center.
Central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) conditions often require advanced imaging such as MRI and CT Scan. Our feline friends with hyperthyroidism sometimes need specialized nuclear medicine therapy. Some cancer patients need bone scans. In these cases, we can refer your pet to Veterinary Imaging Center of South Texas in San Antonio where they have all of the specialized equipment available. |
